What makes a "limited edition"?!

This style of radio used to be available in "Brookstone" and Restoration Hardware as regular products -- or "unlimited editions".

Looks like these companies didn't accept all of their blanket orders --- there's now 500 (or so) left and they now became a "limited edition"
